Jump heights.

Dragon's height at the shoulderblades is slightly less than 12.5 inches. His jump heights are:

TDAA: 12"
AKC: 12"
USDAA: 12" in Performance Program, 16" (!!) in Championship Program
CPE: 12"
NADAC: 12"
ASCA: 12"
UKI: 12"

Well that'll be easy to remember!

  1. Says something about USDAA I think. My dog is 7.5" at the withers and would have to jump 12" in the Championship program. Ridiculous! At least TDAA it's only 4" because of his long back. No trials around here though. Which program do you intend on competing in?

  2. Wow, that's crazy!

I definitely want to compete in TDAA -- I'm part of a small group in northern California that's working to get TDAA matches and trials going in the Bay Area.

Beyond that, I'm not familiar yet with the nuances of competing the different venues. I believe that AKC, USDAA, and CPE are the most common ones in this area. I'll ponder that when we're actually close to competing!

  3. My dog is 16.53 inches tall and she would have to jump 22 inches in USDAA!! That's really high! I really like USDAA though - it looks like a lot of fun.

  4. Geez, I don't think I would ask my dog to jump that high! I don't know enough about the different venues to decide if it's worth it, though.
